Toyota confirms delayed LandCruiser 300 arrival

TOYOTA Australia has confirmed first deliveries of its new 300 Series LandCruiser will be delayed due to the ongoing global production shutdowns – and the length of the delay is yet to be confirmed.

As reported by GoAuto last month, the local market leader will suspend production at 27 out of its production lines across 14 plants in Japan through September and into October with the 300 Series LandCruiser being one of the big-name victims along with the entire Lexus portfolio.

There is a silver lining, however, in that a “limited number” of vehicles will be arriving in local dealerships from early next month exclusively as demonstrator models so that customers can at least sample their new car.

“Toyota Australia is continuing to work closely with our global production team to provide the latest information for dealers and to support our customers,” a local spokesperson said in a statement.

“Our dealers are contacting customers who have placed orders for the new LandCruiser 300 to update them on developments regarding their vehicle.

“Due to this evolving situation, Toyota will continue to provide updates as global production is confirmed.”

GoAuto reported in July that local supply of the HiLux and Fortuner was already under threat, along with the Camry, Corolla, Yaris, and C-HR given the Thai production halts caused by a shortage of wiring harnesses.
