Toyota cuts cost of Kluger features

TOYOTA has released the special-edition Kluger Altitude to counter the facelifted Territory MkII, but buyers will have to look to dealers if they want a bargain.

Toyota says the seven-seat Kluger Altitude comes with more than $4500 of extra features over the base model KX-R.

These include a ceiling-mounted rear-seat entertainment system, a moonroof, new 19-inch alloy wheels and front foglights.

However, Toyota has pinned a price of $45,490 on the 2WD Altitude, which is $1500 more than the standard KX-R seven-seater.

The facelifted Territory also brings new features on various models in the range, and Ford has also had to face the reality of higher prices for commodities like steel and glass and other materials.

As a result, prices across the Territory range have risen by between $500 and $1000.

The base TX 2WD model starts at $39,490 and now comes standard with curtain airbag, cruise control and alloy wheels as standard, as well as full body-colour package covering door handles, mirrors and bumpers.

Adding a $2000 rear-seat entertainment system and an $1100 reverse camera would put the TX close to the Altitude in price, although no sunroof is available on the Ford.
