NO, the speedo really IS there just turn your head to the centre of the dash... There's no question the centre-mounted instrument pod is a brave design, but not everyone's convinced it saves time refocussing between the gauges and the road. The large digital speedo is easily recognised but the bar-type tacho is small and its graphics are not easily read as revs rise. This little car has also changed cheap commuter transport forever with its excellent packaging. Not content to simply provide a split-fold rear seat, Toyota has engineered some innovative features to increase either cargo space or passenger comfort. The rear seat folds and tumbles to create a deep, flat cargo floor, and moves fore and aft up to 150mm to liberate space. Adequate head room completes the criteria for carrying four burly Aussies - two up front and two in the back.
