A MERE glance at the ninth generation Corolla at once shows that Toyota has made some radical changes to the stance and appearance of the popular small car, and improvements in interior space. The changes, though, go much further than improved packaging. The engine is a new 100kW VVT-i unit, the rear suspension is now a space and weight-saving torsion beam configuration and safety goes up a notch with improved body rigidity, braking performance and the inclusion of side airbags.
