Toyota's Camry run-out starts here

BY CHRIS HARRIS | 12th Aug 2005

TOYOTA Australia had added three permanent new variants to its Camry range ahead of an all-new model in 2006.

An Altise Limited grade slots above the entry-level Altise models in both four- and six-cylinder guise, the former adding ABS brakes, 15-inch alloy wheels, a multi-function and leather-clad steering wheel, improved storage facilities, an extra power socket and metallic-look interior trim.

The V6 Altise Limited also gets a six-disc in-dash CD stacker.

Borrowing cosmetic items and mechanical revisions from the Sportivo V6, the Altise Sport V6 includes five-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels (with Michelin Vivacy tyres), a front strut brace and a variable back-pressure muffler for power/torque gains of 4kW/5Nm.

Finally, Toyota has also added full leather trim and power adjustment to the front passenger seat to its Ateva V6 model.
