AVALON uses the same all-alloy double overhead cam, 24-valve 3.0-litre V6 as the Camry, but produces 145kW at 5200rpm and 284Nm at 4400rpm, 4kW and 5Nm more than the mid-sizer. The increases were made courtesy of a new engine management electronic control unit and two-stage muffler. Independent performance figures point to the low nines for the 0-100km/h burst, while official city fuel consumption figures come in at 11.5L/100km.
