WHEN it comes to Toyota's large passenger cars, styling takes a back seat to other core values such as build quality, integrity and resale. And Avalon is no different. It's now an outdated US shape and local enhancements amount to alloy wheels, wheel caps, grille, bumpers, exterior mirrors and side protection mouldings. Toyota has introduced some strong new designs here - Celica, Echo, RAV4 - but what does Avalon say about the company's perception of Australian large car buyers?
