WHERE some of its competitors offer just an automatic transmission with a V6 engine, Suzuki offers both a four-speed automatic and five-speed manual with XL-7. The optional automatic features "normal" and "power" models as well as a lock-up mechanism. The manufacturer's familiar Drive Select four-wheel drive system is present, allowing shifts "on the fly" at speeds up to 100km/h plus shifts between high and low range four-wheel gearing. Slotting between 4H and 4L is only possible when the vehicle has stopped.
