SAFETY features fitted standard to the XL-7 include dual front airbags and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution. The front seatbelts have pretensioners and the outboard seats in rows one and two have adjustment for sash height. The centre passenger in row two is supplied with an inferior lap belt and is the sole occupant to miss out on a head restraint. Childproof rear door locks and child seat tether strap anchorage points are provided. The pillars are constructed of high-tensile steel for optimum strength in the event of a collision.
