By Jimny, the Sierra is back

EIGHT years after the last Suzuki Sierra was sold in Australia, the company has brought the name back by adding the badge to its Jimny micro-SUV.

Suzuki Australia general manager Tony Devers said that the Jimny will now be known as the Jimny Sierra because “the Sierra name has assumed cult status” and “owners have told us they wanted the Sierra name to live on”.

Apart from the badge, the model is otherwise unchanged and continues to sell from $19,990.

Three-door Grand Vitara Trekker models also get upgraded alloy wheels and are priced from $23,990 while the five-door Trekker pack includes side steps, with prices starting from $28,990. It is not available on turbo-diesel models.
