Recall: Suzuki Jimny fuel pump failure

BY MATT BROGAN | 2nd Apr 2024

SUZUKI Australia has joined Suzuki Queensland in issuing a recall notice for the Suzuki Jimny 4WD.

The vehicle is being recalled over a potential issue with the model’s fuel pump that may lead to the swelling of the fuel pump impeller, causing the fuel pump to stop working.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel pump impeller may swell and cause the fuel pump to stop working. If this occurs, the engine could stall resulting in a loss of power,” the recall notice states.

“A loss of power whilst driving increases the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Suzuki Australia in writing or may contact their nearest Suzuki dealership to schedule an appointment to have the fuel pump replaced, free of charge.

Alternatively, owners may choose to contact Suzuki Australia Customer Care on 1800 777 088.
