THE cheeky, cute Suzuki Jimny steps in where the two-decades old Sierra left off. And it is comprehensively better in every way. Performance from the 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine is sparkling around town and adequate on the highway, while its ladder-frame chassis makes the agile Jimny an able off-roader. Especially given its size. The cabin is well designed, nicely made, comfortable and quite civilised. As a versatile alternative to a three-door Excel or Lanos, it might make sense as a fun city run- about, despite lacking car-like dynamics of such rivals.
