THE Grand Vitara V6 is thoroughly conventional in the steering department with a power assisted rack and pinion system standard. The power assistance makes the 4WD easy to manoeuvre in the parking lot or out in the bush and helps make best use of a relatively tight turning circle of 11.4 metres. The use of independent front suspension rather than a live as used in bigger 4WDs limits the amount of shock coming back through the steering.
