Two new models are added to the Grand Vitara line-up, a Sports and Sports Limited Sports models carry a new front bumper and revised grille pattern The ladder frame chassis and an anti-rust coating protect underbody components Roofrails are an integral feature of the Grand Vitara wagon The seats fold in a variety of options that includes fully flat for a makeshift bed, or the split rear seats being double folded to increase the size of the cargo area Hard-wearing cloth trim is used on the Sports model, while the Sports Limited gains leather upholstery The Sports Limited driver seat has lumbar and height adjustment A single-slot CD stereo with AM/FM radio is standard on Grand Vitara Sports Electric window switchgear is located on the door The steering wheel adjusts for height but not reach Air-conditioning is standard across the Grand Vitara Sports range The Sports Limited features alloy wheels, while the Sports makes do with steel rims Both Sports models use 16x7.0JJ wheels with 235/60 R16 100H tyres The Sports models introduce a luggage security blind Rear seat split-folds 50/50 and can be double-folded to dramatically increase the size of the cargo area Anti-lock brakes are standard on the Sports grade Airbags provided for the driver and front passenger on Grand Vitara Sports The remote central locking system is linked to a two-stage engine immobiliser 2.5-litre V6 standard across the Grand Vitara Sports range 2.5-litre V6 develops 106kW of power at 6200rpm and 208Nm of torque at 3500rpm Independent MacPherson strut front suspension arrangement Low-pressure gas dampers and coil springs separated for long travel A rigid rear axle is traditionally the preferred design for off-road work The Grand Vitara engine feeds its power through either a five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic transmission Drive Select system allows "shift on the fly" from two-wheel drive to 4WD at speeds less than 100km/h (when travelling in a straight line) Dual-range transfer case provided with high-range and low-range four-wheel gearing Ventilated front discs Rear drum brakes used Four-sensor anti-lock brakes are standard on Sports Limited Power steering standard Steering column adjusts for height but not reach Rack and pinion steering system
