A "SPORTY" Suzuki Baleno carries with it hopes that the so-far undramatic performance of the company's first small car will improve via increased appeal to younger buyers. The Baleno first appeared in 1995 but its inoffensive, safe styling and unremarkable driving experience have not really created any waves in a ruthless marketplace. The Cavaliero version looks good with its standard alloy wheels and is well enough equipped, but fails to provide any good reasons why buyers should opt for it over numerous other contenders. Perhaps its main strength is its Japanese origin in a South Korean-dominated market.
