ON REFLECTION, this could easily be about an Audi, but we’re talking Subaru here. Its US-made (and focussed) Tribeca is a memorable first-try SUV effort for the Japanese car-maker, but will also try the patience of those who might be expecting Liberty-levels of handling, Impreza WRX performance or segment-leading rear-seat space. On the flipside, equipment, security, safety and refinement levels are first-class, the styling has a sneaky way of really getting under your skin, and there is a luxury aura about the Premium model that transcends the brand. As we said, parallels with the German marque abound...
