THE Liberty is powered by a boxer engine - so-named because the two banks of cylinders face each other. In the RX, its capacity is 2.5-litres, boasting 115kW at 5600rpm and 223Nm at 3600rpm. In its latest guise, the engine offers improved low to mid-range performance and fuel consumption. Changes include new cylinder head design and optimised bearing location to suppress crankshaft vibration.
