SUBARU has given the STi treatment to 300 examples of its MY07 Liberty GT spec.B range.

On sale this month from $65,990, the locally-tuned Libertys come equipped with more power and handling improvements, and are available in both sedan and wagon variants.

Performance improvements include an upgraded ECU that increases peak power to 194kW at 6000rpm (up 10kW) and torque to 350Nm (up 11Nm) from an earlier 2800rpm.

Manual variants feature a six-speed STi short-shift gear lever, while automatics have been tuned to deliver a faster, sportier response.

The MY07 Liberty STi also gains 18-inch lightweight alloys with Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tyres, Brembo brakes, Bilstein sports-tuned dampers and STi lowered springs.

Exterior upgrades include a front lip and rear spoiler (sedan only), sports exhaust outlet and unique model badging.

The Liberty STi is available in two colours: black with charcoal wheels or silver with brushed silver wheels.
