GOLD alloy wheels are an STi trademark and one of the most recognisable features to distinguish the car from a standard WRX. Although both WRX and STi ride on 17-inch wheels, the STi's alloys are wider by half an inch and subsequently use one-size wider tyres (225 up from 215 on WRX). The STi's 17-inch wheels have five pairs of spokes and are shod with low profile Bridgestone Potenza RE040 rubber. A steel space saver spare wheel fitted with a Bridgestone Tracompa-2 TR2 tyre measuring T135/70 D17 102M is located under the floor in the boot.
