WRX specs up to a 10

SUBARU has announced another limited-edition Impreza WRX in the form of 250 Club Spec 10 sedans.

On sale in May from $49,990, the ‘10’ sits neatly between the regular $39,990 WRX sedan and $61,990 WRX STI hatchback. Some of the latter’s Subaru Tecnica International massaging has rubbed off on the Spec 10 sedan.

This includes an STI front lip spoiler that not only improves aerodynamics but also aids stability and cornering. Also to that end, a flexible strut tower bar has been fitted to ensure that the front wheels maintain proper ground contact for better all-round cornering performance. Another upshot, Subaru says, is “vibrant and sharp steering response” as well as reduced chassis flexing.

Special lightweight 17-inch Enkei alloys are half an inch wider than the standard WRX rim, for increased sidewall stiffness, reduced deflection and better grip qualities.

Factory-fitted leather seats, sunroof and satellite navigation complete the Spec 10 sedan packaging, which only comes in WR Blue, Obsidian Black and Satin White.
