ELECTRIC window and mirror switchgear is located on the driver's door armrest as per the previous model, although the armrest is now a straight, flat item rather than angled upward and toward the driver as before. The four front air vents remain in the same position as before, although the previous dash console stack of HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning) controls, audio system and an open storage compartment has been redesigned with the audio at the top and the HVAC controls lower down, separated by a covered storage bin. The front cupholder now pops out from a vertical storage position on the top left of the console, as per Liberty and Outback models. A silver, fake-metal finish has been applied to the dash console and gearshift surround, in keeping with current trends.
