Forester gets special

BY MARTON PETTENDY | 10th Mar 2009

SUBARU Australia has released a limited-edition version of Australia’s top-selling compact SUV last year, the Forester, which will be restricted to 550 examples and is claimed to offer $1500 worth of extra features for a $500 premium.

Priced at $30,990 as a manual and $32,990 as an automatic, the unique iteration of the entry-level Forester X gains 16-inch alloy wheels, front foglights and a leather-clad steering wheel and gearshifter.

Subaru Australia managing director Nick Senior said the new-generation Forester’s ongoing sales success would be spurred by this limited-edition Forester X, which represented “remarkable value in a vehicle that has already been recognised for its comprehensive specification”.

“This is the very first special-edition of new-generation Forester and, with this huge amount of value, we expect them to sell quickly,” he said.

Like all Foresters, the limited-edition variant has twin front, front-side and side curtain airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system and a maximum five-star ANCAP occupant safety rating.
