SUBARU has announced details of its special edition Crosstrek 2.0X AWD this week, the variant due in local showrooms this month priced from $36,990 plus on-road costs.

As a popular small SUV segment choice, the Subaru Crosstrek already boast a long list of standard equipment, bolstered by the special edition to include dual-function X-Mode (part of the all-wheel drive system), 18-inch alloy wheels in a gloss finish, dark grey roof rails, and a door under garnish.

Additionally, the Crosstrek 2.0X AWD adds dusk-sensing and self-levelling LED headlights, LED front fog lights, Charcoal-coloured premium cloth trim with front seat heating, and a leather-clad steering wheel and gear shift.

The variant is available in all existing paint hues.

“Crosstrek is a versatile, capable compact SUV that delivers genuine SUV performance, and features all the right ingredients to inspire driving confidence on any journey, whether that be navigating urban streets or exploring the road less travelled on weekend getaways,” said Subaru Australia managing director Blair Read.

“We are delighted to introduce this value packed Crosstrek 2.0X special edition, expanding the options available to our customers.”

Year-to-date sales figures show the Subaru Crosstrek as one of the more popular choices in the SUV Small under $45K segment. Subaru Australia has sold 3113 examples of the Crosstrek to the end of March, placing the model in an enviable fourth place within the bustling segment.

The Subaru Crosstrek is beaten only by the MG ZS (6291), Hyundai Kona (3999), and GWM Haval Jolion (3460), and sits ahead of the Mitsubishi ASX (3108), Mazda CX-30 (2931), Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (2875), Toyota Corolla Cross (2414), Kia Seltos (2329), and Nissan Qashqai (2166) in the 23-entrant segment.
