DAIMLERCHRYSLER’S French-built Smart ForTwo, the first in a four-pronged series of off-beat econo-cars from Mercedes-Benz, gives Australians the opportunity to drive something right-minded yet left-field, ultra-compact yet quite cosseting, and even environmental yet enjoyable. Sure it has faults, but it’s all a question of choice, and that’s a good thing. While the range has since grown to include a Roadster and the ForFour hatch, here we test the ForTwo cabrio with which the Smart brand was launched in 2003.
