Skoda consolidates Yeti small SUV range

This leaves the range with only two petrol variants – the 81TSI offered in manual or dual-clutch automatic guise – and the single-variant 110TSI, priced from $32,990 before on-roads.
The turbocharged 1.4-litre 110TSI four-cylinder engine, widely used in other Volkswagen Group models such as the Octavia, Volkswagen Golf and Tiguan, and Audi A3 and A4, makes 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque and is paired to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The110TSI engine sips 6.6 litres per 100km on the combined fuel cycle, while power is sent to all four wheels for better performance on rough roads.
To aid driving on loose surfaces, the 110TSI 4x4 Outdoor is also equipped with hard-wearing black bumpers and underside protection, while 17-inch Erebus black alloy wheels and silver roof rails further differentiates it from the 81TSI.
Inside, the 110TSI gets some extra kit over the 81TSI, including climate control air-conditioning, chrome inner door handles and black sills.
This is in addition to satellite navigation, metallic or pearl effect paint, front parking sensors, privacy glass and front foglights, which are standard across the range.
Sales of the Yeti have been steadily declining year-on-year since it recorded 1129 sales in 2013, with 412 sales to the end of September this year representing a drop of 43 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The year-to-date sales result puts it ahead of rivals including the Fiat 500X (403) and Peugeot 2008 (293), but still well off the pace of others such as the Mazda CX-3 (14,317), Mitsubishi ASX (13,462), Subaru XV (6012), Suzuki Vitara (4429), Renault Captur (1264) and Jeep Renegade (765).
