First look: Second coming for Skoda's Superb

BY MARTON PETTENDY | 11th Dec 2007

CZECH brand Skoda has revealed the first official image of its all-new Superb range-topper - and Skoda's fledgling Australian affiliate has already confirmed it will be sold here.

Based on sister brand Volkswagen's large Passat sedan, the second-generation Skoda Auto flagship will make its global public debut at the Geneva motor show in March 2008.

However, the largest Skoda is unlikely to join its Octavia and Roomster stablemates, which relaunched the budget European marque here in October, before 2009.

Skoda says its redesigned Superb will "offer a generously-sized interior with a number of smart solutions and technologies".

"The current Superb is not available in the Australian market, however, Skoda Australia has full intention of launching the successor here," says SKoda Australia.
