Freshened 9-5 debuts Down Under

BY CHRIS HARRIS | 17th Feb 2006

SAAB gave the facelifted 9-5 sedan its Australian debut at last week's Melbourne motor show ahead of its April debut. The revised sedan has more than 1350 enhancements over the previous model, all designed to keep it up-to-date.

Notable aspects include new front and rear styling with a bold new face inspired by the Saab 9X concept car, and a fresh interior that includes an updated dashboard and interior trim. The climate controls have been simplified but the dashboard still retains its curved aircraft-inspired look.

The car’s chassis dynamics have also been improved, with better steering response and tuned suspension.

Joining the new 9-5 was the latest 9-3 Aero V6 convertible and the just-launched 9-3 SportCombi Linear and Aero V6.
