BOLDLY going where the German marques dare not venture to, tiny Saab introduces Australia’s first-ever diesel-powered convertible, as well as one of the few luxury-brand diesel wagons, onto the local market. The 9-3 TiD, also available in sedan guise, has the smarts to challenge premium rivals such as the Peugeot 407 HDI, as well as its more obvious luxury competition from Stuttgart and Ingolstadt, alike. Could we finally be seeing the start of special Saabs again?
