SAAB promotes simplicity and clean design as the best driver's environment and it shows in the 9-3 S. The speedometer scale is compressed over 120km/h to allow a wider, more accurate scale at lower speeds and a switchable "night panel" illuminates only basic instruments to minimise distraction. A lockable full-size glovebox is located on the passenger's side. The 9-3 is fitted with dual vanity mirrors on the sunvisors.
