LUGGAGE carrying is something the 9-3 is particularly good at. The rear seat is split 60-40 and also double-folds to create an enormous load space. The Saab will carry 1303 litres with the rear seat completely folded, 451 litres with all seats in place. The boot opening is wide and deep too, making for easy loading of large items - such as bicycles - and there is a load-through ski port for long items. A clever crossmember behind the seat remains in place when only one section of the seat is folded, but swings down when both seats are folded. It provides the anchor point for the centre lap-sash belt.
