IF this doesn't get Australians appreciating the benefits of mini-MPVs, and the drawbacks common to all recreational 4WDs, nothing will. The first vehicle to bridge the gap between the two segments, the RX4 has the requisite looks and credentials for light off-road duties in addition to the superb packaging found across the Scenic range. It suffers in the performance and handling stakes but makes a strong impression with its absorbent ride, interior design and high equipment level. And the hopes of all mini-MPVs are riding on it.
