RENAULT offers a five-speed manual as standard across the Scenic range and a four-speed automatic as an option on 2.0-litre (Dynamique and Privilege) models. The "Proactive" automatic is an intelligent unit that moves between nine shift programs according to the driver's style or the prevailing terrain. One manual setting is also available. The transmission has the ability to downshift under braking and retain the selected gear if the accelerator is released quickly.
