Renault ups LCV warranty to unlimited kilometres

RENAULT Australia has upped the mileage of its three-year warranty period for its light-commercial vehicles (LCV) from 200,000 kilometres to unlimited use, effective from November for all Trafic, Kangoo and Master models.

The French car-maker’s LCV coverage now bests Mercedes-Benz Vans and Fiat Professional’s three-year/200,000km warranty for its Vito and Sprinter, and Doblo and Ducato respectively, as well as the three-year/100,000kms of Citroen’s Berlingo.

However, Renault’s new warranty still falls short of Ford’s five-year/unlimited kilometre offering for its Transit Custom, Transit and Ranger LCVs.

Renault Australia managing director Andrew Moore said the move to the unlimited assurance distance was in response to customer feedback.

“With this unlimited kilometre warranty Renault is offering its van customers additional value, in what are already great value vehicles,” he said.

“Van buyers are always looking for a vehicle to best suit their business and our van range is well positioned to respond to their needs, with business customers doing high kilometres no longer having to worry about this impacting their warranty.”

Sales of Renault Australia’s LCVs in the first 10 months of the year have remained flat across the board, with the Kangoo clocking 710 (-3.3%) new registrations, the Trafic hitting 1657 (-2.1%) sales and the Master amassing 1306 (-3.5%) units.
