RENAULT has tackled the previous Laguna’s weaknesses head-on with the third-generation model launched in Australia during the middle of 2008, with a particular emphasis on tackling reliability, durability, quality and interior presentation. And, indeed, the latest model is a quantum leap forward for the series in these respects, while providing a fresh look and an industry-leading turbo-diesel engine application. However, in top-line Privilege dCi edition, the X91 Laguna suffers from unexpected shortcomings, undermining what could have been the most improved car of the last 12 months.
