Spec up, prices down for Renault Koleos

RENAULT has improved the value equation of its compact SUV contender by introducing an upgraded MY10 Koleos with more equipment across the range.

While the price of the entry-level Dynamique 2WD petrol remains unchanged at $31,490, the automatic version is $500 more affordable at $33,490 and the Dynamique AWD auto is $1000 cheaper at $36,990.

The Dynamique AWD diesel auto – now the sole diesel-powered Koleos after the discontinuation of the $36,490 Dynamique 2WD auto – remains unchanged at $39,990, while the range-topping Privilege AWD auto is $1000 more expensive at $43,990.

On sale now, the MY10 Koleos adds an integrated TomTom satellite-navigation system as standard across the range, incorporating Bluetooth and auxiliary-in connection, as well as a new rear tailgate spoiler and four fresh metallic exterior paint colours.



Also now standard at base Dynamique level is a new premium Arkamys sound system, while the flagship Privilege variants gain a carbon-fibre-effect centre console, sunroof, eight-speaker Bose audio system, new alloy wheels and the option of new charcoal-finish leather upholstery.

All versions of Renault Australia’s best-seller, which comes with a five-star ANCAP safety rating, continues to come standard with front, side and curtain airbags, plus electronic stability control, ABS brakes with EBA, dual-zone climate-control, power heated/folding mirrors, rear sun blinds, a child minder mirror, roof-rails and automatic headlights and wipers.

AWD versions add Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist, while the top-shelf Privilege gains the Renault hands free card, front and rear parking sensors There are no changes to either the 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre petrol engine – available with either six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions – or the 110kW/360Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel, which now comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Koleos sales are 11.4 per cent down after the first three months of this year, with 186 sold.
