A MEMBER of the compact hatch club, the Clio has a luggage compartment that is about the same size as a Holden Barina. It will hold up to 253 litres and has a 60/40 split-fold rear bench seat that can increase the maximum load length from 620mm to 1345mm. Both the rear seatback and seatbase split, however a load retention crossbeam built around a deformable steel tube (designed to absorb energy from loose items in the cargo area) creates a lip in the floor and will necessitate some loads to be lifted and placed rather than slid. A full-size spare wheel is located underneath the cargo floor.
