THE "hot" hatch market is littered with cars that are no more than pieces of jewellery and fail to live up to expectations on the road. Not this one. The Renault Sport has the requisite looks but it also has a smooth, powerful engine and outstanding chassis dynamics. We also applaud the fact that the standard features list extends well beyond sports seats, a suede steering wheel, a mock metallic dash insert and white-faced instrument dials. An extremely good anti-lock braking system, dual front and side airbags and a head restraint and lap-sash seatbelt for all occupants are provided as well.
