THE 911 uses MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link rear end (pictured).

The front suspension has elastically connected (or "floating") track control rods and longitudinal links, instead of the conventional rigid wishbones of previous 911s. The multi-link rear axle is mounted on an aluminium subframe designed to reduce noise, improve chassis rigidity and ensure an even distribution of energy in the event of a rear impact.
