THE 911 employs a power-assisted rack and pinion steering system with three turns lock to lock. Small in diameter and leather-wrapped, the thick-rimmed tiller feels right at home in this consummate sports car. In Tiptronic versions, the airbag-equipped C4S steering wheel features remote gearshift toggle switches on its upper spokes, but manual versions comprise no steering wheel buttons of any kind. The leather used on the steering wheel is matched to that used on the gear lever, handbrake and door handles.
