THE ribbed, curved bonnet was introduced in August, 1999, as was a honeycomb mesh grille. New, smoother-look front and rear bumpers and body side mouldings with chrome inserts help identify the 1999 facelift, as do the higher boot profile and jewelled tail-light lenses. Headlights also adopted a clear-look lens in 1999. Interior changes in 1999 included more ergonomic door panels with improved window/mirror controls, an upgraded fascia with new displays and instruments, aluminium inserts on the handbrake knob and air ducts, new seats and steering wheel.
