PEUGEOT is celebrating 30 years since the iconic 205 GTi was launched with a hotted-up, comprehensively tweaked version of the acclaimed 208 GTi limited to 500 units worldwide, of which 26 came to Australia.

It gains more power and torque, a TorSen limited-slip differential and a chassis overhaul resulting in wider tracks, a lower ride, beefed-up springs and dampers and recalibrated stability and traction control systems.

The extra sporting intent is demonstrated inside and out, including an exclusive optional hand-finished two-tone paint job.

GoAuto had a few quick laps of a track back-to-back with the standard GTi to see if we could feel the difference.
