THE power-assisted rack and pinion steering uses an alloy Saginaw vane pump which provides a constant fluid flow and a pressure sensor that maintains a constant idle speed in low-speed manoeuvres, such as parking. Turns lock to lock measure 3.3 and a 9.8 metre turning circle make light work of U-turns.
