ACCESS to the luggage compartment is made via Patrol's twin-door tailgate, which requires the smaller door to be unlocked and opened before the larger portion (holding the spare wheel) can be swung open. Doing so reveals a small luggage compartment behind the third row, which does without a power socket or under-floor storage compartment. There are, however, hooks for a luggage net to run along behind the rear seatbacks. Distance from the tailgate to seatback measures 340mm. This increases to 1080mm when the rear seats are folded up against the side windows and to 1560mm when the centre row is folded and tumbled forward against the front seatbacks. Luggage tie-down hooks are also provided and come into play when the rear seats are folded.
