First look: Nissan reveals its 4WD future

NISSAN has exposed its future SUV direction by releasing this rendering of a new, mid-sized off-road concept to be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September.

Featuring the second generation of Nissan’s All Mode 4x4 system, first seen on X-Trail, Dunehawk is said to combine “genuine off-roading ability with no compromise in on-road performance”.

The press release continued: “With a bold and intelligent design, advanced technology and innovative combination of SUV and MPV, the Dunehawk is a mid-sized 4x4 aimed at meeting the emerging needs of the active family of tomorrow”.

Nissan says Dunehawk is “a vision of how a Nissan 4x4 of tomorrow could look” - and our guess is it hints at the look of the next Pathfinder.
