NISSAN’S Navara is a mainstay of the light-commercial vehicle segment and the new model brought an independent rear end, more grunt, better economy and good safety features to the ute party in mid-2015.

But underdone suspension overshadowed the new model’s arrival and dropped it down the list of top-selling utes within the fast-growing segment.

Vagueness through the steering and wallowing handling did little to endear it to ute buyers and its load-carrying ability was questioned as it’s rear sank under duress.

Stiffened rear springs and dampers (front and rear) with more resolve have sharpened its road manners up but only perhaps to the point it should have been when launched.
