The 1.6-litre iO engine uses a single overhead camshaft with four valves per cylinderPower output is 75kW at 6000rpm with 135Nm of torque at 3500rpm Two-door iO uses a shorter wheelbase than the four-door, 1.8-litre version In full-time 4WD mode, power is shared between front and rear wheels by a central viscous coupling unit High/low transfer case allows selection of low-range 4WD for off-road use Live rear axle is suspended by coil springs with five locating links iO uses independent MacPherson strut front suspension Power-assisted braking system uses discs at the front and drums at the rear Driver's side airbag is standard equipment Both iO models are fitted with air-conditioning as standard 16-inch alloy wheels are used on two and four-door models Split-fold rear seats increase load carrying ability Two-door iO is available with five-speed manual transmission only. Four-door version offers optional four-speed automatic transmission Spare wheel does not impede rear vision
