LANCER'S traditional hooded-binnacle dashboard is carried over in the Evo, and the hard plastic surfaces reflect the base model's entry price. Red-painted speed and rpm increments occupy black-faced instruments on the speedo and tacho respectively, the former reading to an ambitious (given the short gearing) 260km/h and the latter to a 7000rpm redline. The obligatory engine temperature and fuel level gauges reside at the right-hand side of the instrument panel, and the only extra instrumentation is a small, central LCD clock.
