STARTING life as a common garden variety Mitsubishi Lancer, the Makinen Edition benefits from the donor car's contemporary mix of rounded shapes and angles, such as the Benz-style triangular tail-lights. The Evo goes much further, however, adding a menacing bodykit that's both in-ya-face and well integrated, giving the standard Lancer a whole new and far more serious attitude. The chunky body treatment includes a massive, adjustable rear wing, radically bulging alloy front quarter guards, wildly flared rear wheel arches, scalloped side skirts, a deep front bumper with massive intercooler airdam, an aluminium bonnet with large ventilation slots, downpipe-sized exhaust outlet and simple but dated white alloys. Adding to the intrigue, there's no exterior badging bar the grille's triple-diamond Mitsubishi logo.
