MITSUBISHI'S Lancer is in a similar predicament to its predecessor - it scores strongly enough on styling and packaging but lets the team down with only average suspension behaviour and overall refinement. Not atypical in the class, it also tends to look drab and dull inside, constantly reminding driver and passengers they are not riding in a top-of-the-line car. The entry level Mirage model with its cheeky, standout styling is the pick of the Mitsubishi small cars.
