Brochure reveals Evo torque fest

A LEAKED brochure has revealed the “official” power and torque figures for the much-anticipated Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X before its launch at the Tokyo motor show in October.

As expected, the power figure is stated as 206kW, which is in line with a gentleman’s agreement to cap power output at that level. GoAuto expects the actual output to be considerably higher than the stated figure.

The Evo X’s official torque figure is an impressive 422Nm, delivered at 3500rpm, which represents a massive 67Nm increase over the current model. The Lancer Evo X is due to go on sale in Australia early next year.

The standard Lancer range was launched in Japan this week, ahead of the Australian launch late next month. In Japan, the Lancer is called the Galant Fortis and is available as a 2.0-litre in both front-wheel drive and AWD configurations.
